Coach Kaparos is the CEO of Long Island Martial Arts and Zen Mobile Solutions. Gus Kaparos came from Greece when he was 5 years old and became interested in Martial Arts at the age of 6 years old. From birth Coach Kaparos suffered from a rare bone disease which left him crippled. he spent the first years of his life in a hospital in Dortmund Germany where he was born. As the years progressed he eventually was able to walk with braces. His story is very similar to the fictional story of Forest Gump as he was able to eventually break free from his braces. In the story Forest was able to do this by running. Coach Gus was able to do this from vigorous training in the art of Kung Fu. Coach Kaparos opened his first school at the age of 17 years old and has been training people in the martial arts every since.
Coach Kaparos began his training in Tae Kwon Do through a friend and at the age of eight he began his formal study of Jujitsu eventually learning Kung Fu. Along the way Coach Kaparos trained with top notch instructors learning diffrent styles of Martial Arts such as: Tai Boxing, Go-Ju, Karate, Judo, Clasicall weaponry and a mix of stick and knife fighting styles. His biggest influence was the famed Chan Tai San from Toisan China. Chan Tai San was a legendary figure known for his fighting and rare Kung Fu systems such as Lama Kung Fu and Choy Li Fut Kung Fu. Coach Kaparos studied with Sifu (Master) Chan and Opened the Chan Tai San Kung Fu Academy under the directions of Sifu Chan untill his passing. Coach Kaparos has designed a comprehensive training program combining esoteric training with modern training methods following in in the foot steps of his idol, the father of MMA Bruce Lee.
